Feng Shui For The Bedroom

Feng Shui in the bedroom is important in setting the tone for a harmonious relationship. Feng Shui is the Chinese art of creating a harmonious environment that supports your well-being on all levels. Because sleeping is something we all do for approximately 1/3 of our lives, a harmonious bedroom is a very important factor for our overall health.

A good feng shui bedroom is one that draws you in, stimulates you, and cools you at the same time. A good feng shui bedroom is fun and pleasurable to be in, whether you are there for a short nap, a good night's rest, or to make passionate love.

To create the best possible feng shui for your bedroom, try to incorporate as many of these feng shui tips as possible:

  • Do not position bedrooms above garages because the dead space below gives the bedroom a lack of support.

  • Always make sure to keep doors closed on an adjacent bathroom or toilet when you are asleep.

  • A bedroom door needs to open completely on a 90-degree angle. This represents bountiful blessings and opportunities. Doors that open less than 90 degrees mean very limited opportunities.

  • A well-balanced bed is very important in creating an excellent feng shui bedroom. To create harmonious feng shui energy have your bed easily approachable from both sides, avoid having the bed in direct line with the door, have two bedside tables (on each side), and have a good mattress, a solid headboard, and quality sheets.

  • Messes need to be cleaned up to create serenity, to live well, and to function optimally. Messiness represents all that is left undone in your life.

  • Let go of the computer, exercise equipment, or the TV in your bedroom. Good feng shui energy in your bedroom is destroyed when these items are present in the bedroom.

  • Use soothing colors to have a good bedroom feng shui balance. "Skin colors"  (pale white to rich chocolate brown) are best feng shui colors. These colors promote the best flow of energy for restorative sleep, as well as sexual healing.

  • Open windows often to keep the air fresh and full of oxygen. You cannot have a good bedroom feng shui if the air you breathe in is full of pollutants and is stale.

  • Mirrors in bedrooms can also be a feng shui nightmare. They should be avoided if they can reflect your image while you are asleep. This effect can drain you. Round and oval shaped mirrors in bedrooms are ideal, and full length dressing mirrors can be cleverly concealed inside a wardrobe.

  • Good and appropriate lighting is very important. Light is our number one nutrient and the strongest manifestation of energy. Candles are the best feng shui bedroom lighting.

  • The perfect feng shui bedroom may look different for different people, but they will all have one thing in common: pleasure! In an ideal feng shui bedroom, everything will have a clear purpose for healing, relaxation, and love.
