Nebraska Third in Drunk Driving

Nebraska News
According to the results of a survey released by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Nebraska is ranked third in the nation in drinking and driving. Only Wisconsin and South Dakota had more drunk drivers. Nationwide, the average of drunk drivers has been decreasing since 2005 but in the last year the average in Nebraska has increased by half a percentage point. The survey studied drivers 16 and older and found that 21 percent of Nebraskans surveyed admitted to driving while drunk in the last year, compared to the national average of 13 per cent. Regionally, the states of the upper midwest by far ranked the highest in rates of drunk driving in the nation.
