A recent survey by the American Farm Bureau Association showed that the average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for ten this year is $5.33 less in Nebraska than the rest of the country. The average price of turkeys in Nebraska was 91 cents per pound compared to the national average of $1.10. One of the biggest factors in making Nebraska's Thanksgiving meals cheaper was the price of sweet potatoes which in Nebraska was $1.02 per pound compared to $3.19 per pound nationally. Nationally the price of a Thanksgiving dinner for ten is up 1.3%, or 56 cents.
